India beat Kenya in the Inter continental cup final

India beat Kenya by 2-0 in the Inter continental cup, 2018, at Mumbai Football Arena here, with the help of two superb goals from the captain Sunil Chetri and lifted the intercontinental cup.

The grand finale started in Mumbai football Arena at 7:50pm. India got a great start as in the seventh minute, India got their first free kick, and captain Sunil Chetri in the eighth minute converted it into a goal. Indian fans don't have to wait much as the second superb shot came once again from the captain Sunil Chetri in the twenty ninth minute as he took the opportunity of poor defense from the opposition team Kenya and scored the second goal for India. Continuous fouls were done by the Kenya players as referee was forced to give yellow card to striker B. Oginga. In the fortieth minute Kenya's captain was given the yellow card for hitting Thapa on his calf. Kenya sent substitute Makawata in place of Mugambi but this change doesn't seemed much helpful for Kenya as first half of the game completed with a score of 2-0.

Indian defense seemed weak and some casual approach from the Indian defenders. Some good saves from the goal keeper Gurprit saved India many time in the game. Kenya hit back in the second half with full power, as India faced trouble in the initial time of second half. In the sixty fifth minute, India got one more free kick as once again Thapa was hit on his ankle which created a situation of fight, as Kenya were unable to keep themselves cool in the frustrating final. Second half very much interesting as Kenya showed fight in every second with total of eleven corners and three free kicks, ball hardly went towards Kenya's goalkeeper as they managed to keep the ball around the Indian side only, but were unable to take the advantages of these chances.

Before this finale, India lost 1-2 to New Zealand in the league stage but managed to qualify for the finals.
