Cricket is a game which is loved across the world. But, many times we get to know something which very much difficult to accept for a cricketing fans. Injury and sports
has a very old relation. But when this injuries lead to life loss of an athlete, it is very painful. Here is a detail of top 5 most dangerous accidents that took place in the history of cricket.
1. Phillip Hughes : Phillip Joel Hughes collapsed with face first to the ground during a Sheffield Shield game after Sean Abbott bouncer hit him at the base of his skull. 25 year old was batting on 63 when the accident took place. Phillip Hughes was rushed to Sydney city hospital immediately. He underwent surgery and was placed in to induced coma. On 27th November, 2014 he was declared dead due to his injury just three days before his 26th birthday.

2. Nari Contractor : Former Indian captain Nari Contractor took a blow at the back of his skull during a test match against West Indies in 1961. It was the 5th ball of the over, when Charlie Griffith's bouncer hit Nari at his skull. Soon bleeding started from his nose and ears. He was shifted to Barbados for his treatment. he was operated twice before his condition was stable. Several Indian and West Indian players donated blood to Nari. But the young captain was never picked up for the country and his career was ended up with that bouncer.

3. Saba Karim : Indian Cricketer Saba Karim received a ultimately setback when he was hit on his right eye during a match in Asia Cup in Dhaka in 2000. When Anil Kumble's delivery came off the batsman's boot, bounced and hit him on his right eye. He has to undergo two surgeries. One in Chennai and further treatment in London. He was forced to end up his career after his eye sight didn't showed any recovery.

4. Mike Gatting : During a test match in 1986, England's Right hand batsman Mike Gatting was shattered by a delivery from West Indies fast bowler Malcolm Marshall. A piece of bone was lodge in the leather ball. England lost the series by 5-0.

5. Raman Lamba : Former Indian test cricket, 38 received a fatal injury while fielding close to the batsman during a club match in Bangladesh in 1998. He was rushed to injury in Dhaka but died three days after the accident on 22nd February.

Injuries are not caused intentionally. But the main thing is that how much we learn from the mistakes and what are the safety measures that are taken to prevent it. Because all we know that "PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE."
